Estate agency Hamptons has taken a gander at the areas with the largest increase in movers from London at this stage of the year compared to last. The biggest increase in incomers from the capital, writes The Times, was found in the Rother region, where the percentage of Londoners as a total of all buyers went from 37 to 65%.
The average property price in Bexhill-on-Sea is £340,502, according to Rightmove, compared with £571k in Tunbridge Wells.
Mark Crampton, southern home counties expert at the agency Middleton, told the newspaper:
"The rural landscape of the High Weald around Burwash, Dallington, Robertsbridge and down to the coast at Rye seems to have caught the eye of many buyers in the market recently. Not just for the sheer beauty of the area, but compared with areas closer to London and in West Sussex it does offer considerably better value for money."
